The Lama Lhakpa Yeshe Sangha Community recently completed a short weekend meditation retreat in the woodland near Telford. I am happy to say that it was a great success. Lama was able to give daily teachings and precepts to the students who practiced diligently.
As well as the students staying for the full three days the retreat attracted a number of interested persons from both the local community and beyond. After all, it is not every day that the people of the UK have a Tibetan Lama teaching in their neighbourhood. It was gratifying to see the spread of the Dharma to interested parties beyond the regular Sangha community.
Lama wishes to express his appreciation to everyone that attended and those that assisted in preparing the site for the retreat. Much effort went into preparing the site as this was the first time it had been used in this way.
As can be seen from the photo the “field kitchen” was appreciated and used by all. Thankfully the weather was mild and so the fire was necessary only to spread a little light.
It is hoped that it will be possible to hold another short retreat at the same venue in the near future.
